The Journey
The Journey
A long and weary journey lies before you,
A car, a map and of course some snacks.
You've packed your bags and you're ready to go,
the beams of the car lights shining ahead.
You say goodbye and you take off,
the music occupying your thoughts.
Morning comes and you seem lost,
A weary traveller in a foreign land.
This song's been played at least 8 times,
When you drive into a town with no name, no aim,
You see a man walk down the street,
His smile is warm though he hardly has teeth!
You wave and he comes over,
"Where am I?" you ask,
"You've made it!" he shouts.
You're now lost and confused,
As perplexed as a puzzle with missing pieces.
"I gave you a map,
it would lead you to me.
You left your family to follow that map,
the map that led you to me."
"Worldly desires had clouded your vision,
but you came back, following that map.
Through the journey I comforted and strengthened you
So you would make it here, to be with me."
"Now keep following that map,
it leads you to the ending I have planned for you.
To follow and trust me and my map,
you will face many trials,
but I will be there through all of them,
to comfort and guide you.
Do you accept?"
You sit in your car, thinking it over.
Who is this man?
Should you listen to him?
Do you follow his path,
or make your own path - an easier path?
