THE STORY of the SNOW LION

The Mighty Snow lion, the overseer of the Himalayas, is the national symbol of Tibet and has been known to look over this region from the beginning of time. Indeed, he was extremely sad when the people he cared for so much had to flee troubles including genocide, persecution and sadness. Nevertheless, he was more unhappy to watch the nation left behind suffer at the hands of countless tyrants. Even so, the Snow lion, with his people hope that they will be at liberty ultimately.

2. The Snow lion represents Fearlessness and Joy. 

3. The Snow lion is a mythical animal that was the protector of the Buddha.

This month - the month of April, is completely focused on Tibetan culture. There will be a few posts in total, and they will cover interesting aspects of Tibetans and their culture. Hope you enjoy!!

*The artwork was done by a friend of mine. It was done on paper using alcohol markers, and he used a pen and a pencil to draw the outlines. I think that he is an awesome artist! He also draws wonderful nature scenes, castles, and animals just to name a few of the things he works on. He also wrote a passage and a few facts to accompany the art.
