Music is beautiful,

Not only the notes,

But the words.

'I give my life to You
so I can gain it back again'
A line that's stuck with me.

'I give my life'
Giving it up,
Being vulnerable,
Exposing everything!

'to You' - to God
Who already could know,
But He's given us a choice,
To keep our life,
Or give it to Him.

'so I can gain it back again'
I love this bit so much.
The beauty, and the meaning!

We give our life
To God, just to
Get it back.

But to get it back,
As it should be.
With the pain and hurt,
Not fully removed,
But healed.

Not to find a 
Perfect life,
But a God who
Stays no matter what,
And offers comfort.

To see everything
You wish you hadn't done,
And the burden
You've been carrying
For so long,
Removed!

To have every burden
You will gain in the future,
Shared with God,
Removed by God.

This is what I want,
So I did give my life
To Him, so I could
Get it back again.

And life isn't perfect,
Or easy, or sinless.
But there is always
One person, no matter what,
I can always count on
To be there for me.

MUSIC MUSINGS

I wrote this poem after being fixated on this line - 'I give my life to You so I can gain it back again'  from the song Paradigm by the band All Together Separate.

Music is something that inspires so much awe and wonder in me, and is something I basically live life through! Music is what I love; it's a core part of me.

Music sounds extremely beautiful, and not in a way that one says - 'That dress is beautiful!' But in the way someone says - 'She behaves beautifully.' It is not beautiful in the way it always sounds pretty and nice; it's beautiful in the way it reflects how your heart feels, it mirrors your soul! Some songs are pretty, others are broken and rough, others are angry. But they are all beautiful.

And words, they have the power to add depth to music that makes it even more beautiful and meaningful. The music opens up your heart, and the words soothe it, explain that you aren't alone.

Music and musical lyrics have so much power over me and can totally change how I look at something, and it helps me grow so much - especially spiritually, but also as a person.

That's why I feel it's really very important to pick good music you agree with, because it can deeply affect you, even if you don't realise it! And of course, one style of music can never fit everyone!
